Mercedes-Benz USA has taken the wraps off the new G-Class Edition 550.
Limited to 200 units, the special editions are all about exclusivity and each will feature a Jupiter Red, Arabian Grey, or Moonlight White exterior. The latter hue is particularly noteworthy as Mercedes said it’s their newest Manufaktur color.
The colors are contrasted by gloss black paint that has been applied to the bumpers, fender flares, grille, and wheels. The G-Class Edition 550 also features black badging as well as an exterior badge that shows the silhouette of the G-Class and notes the special edition is 1 of 200 units.

Moving into the cabin, buyers will find an “extensive range of luxurious interior options, from two-tone Nappa Leather upholstery with diamond stitching to active multicontour seats and carbon fiber trim.” They’re joined by a special grab handle that says “1 of 200 Edition 550.”
Mercedes didn’t say much else about the special edition, but it presumably features a familiar twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that develops 416 hp (310 kW / 422 PS) and 450 lb-ft (609 Nm) of torque. It should be paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system with a two-speed transfer case. This setup enables the standard model to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 5.6 seconds and tow up to 7,000 lbs (3,175 kg).
