Looking for a vehicle that will go the distance? Look no further as iSeeCars’ latest study found the “most reliable models based on their long-term reliability” with the highest percentage reaching 200,000 (321,869 km) miles.
The study looked at over 14.9 million cars sold in 2021 and excluded low-volume models, heavy-duty vehicles, and models that were not in production last year. The company than “mathematically modeled” the percentage of each model with at least 200,000 miles (321,869 km) on the odometer.
With that explainer out of the way, let’s jump into the numbers. The Toyota Land Cruiser came out on top as 18.2% of them have traveled 200,000 miles (321,869 km). The Land Cruiser has held onto the top spot for a number of years, but it’s reign is coming to an end as the model was discontinued in the United States last year.

That being said, the second vehicle most likely to have 200,000 miles (321,869 km) on it was also a Toyota SUV. It’s the Sequoia as 14.2% of them have gone the distance.
Rounding out the top five spots were the Chevrolet Suburban (6.6%), GMC Yukon XL (5.2%), and Toyota 4Runner (4.6%). It’s interesting to note all five of them are SUVs and relatively pricey ones at that. The latter could help to explain the high mileage as customers might hold onto them longer to get the most out of their investment.
On the pickup side of things, 4.0% of Toyota Tundras have traveled 200,000 miles (321,869 km). It was followed by the Honda Ridgeline (3.7%), Toyota Tacoma (2.8%), Nissan Titan (2.6%), and Ford F-150 (2.4%).
The “longest-lasting” cars were the Toyota Avalon (3.9%) and Prius (3.9%), while the Honda Odyssey (3.2%) and Toyota Sienna (3.2%) minivans also rack up the miles.
iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer stated, “With new and used car prices at record highs, many consumers are likely keeping their vehicles on the road for an extended period of time or are looking to buy a reliable vehicle to get the most return on their investment.” He added Toyota dominated the list and this “validates the brand’s reputation for building enduring and reliable vehicles.”
