Dodge recently introduced its in-house aftermarket performance wing, Direct Connection. Among the many upgrades, Dodge will allow you to transform any 2015 or later Challenger into a Hellcat Widebody model.
It should come as no surprise that Direct Connection sells Hellcat crate engines, Dodge has long done so, but the widebody kit is a little more novel. Where others have tried and failed to recreate the look (largely because of Dodge’s intellectual property lawyers), Dodge can now offer the exact widebody panels that are installed on the real cars at the plant.
To get the full complement of parts will, of course, require some money and installing them will require some elbow grease. If you’re dying for the widebody look but love your Challenger too much to trade it in, this may the solution for you.

To start, there is the Challenger Widebody Fender kit with quarter panels, side skirts, and more. It should be noted, however, that the installation requires you to cut and drill your body panels, so once you start there’s no turning back. Hardware and instructions are included and the kit costs $2,495.
If you’re just dipping your toes in, the Hellcat Front Fascia Kit might be right for you. It rings in at $1,995 and increases airflow to the engine compartment improving cooling and downforce. Perhaps just as importantly, though, it improves the look of the front of the car. The new fascia doesn’t allow for foglights, but the kit includes all the provisions you’ll need to delete that feature safely.
Direct Connection also offers a 2019 Redeye hood for another $1,495. The dual inlet hood adds a sinister, snarling effect to the Challenger’s countenance. You can also buy an Air-Catcher Headlamp Kit ($1,675) and Hellcat Widebody-Look Wheels to really round out the look.
Inspired by the modification program launched in 1974 that served muscle car enthusiasts, Direct Connection aspires to be a one-stop-shop for Mopar owners looking to modify their vehicles. There’s an e-catalog for your perusing pleasure and a toll-free hotline to help you shop for and work on your car. Best of all, all parts come with a 24-month, unlimited miles warranty.
