One of the lowest-mileage Porsche Carrera GTs in existence has hit the market and could be the most expensive to trade hands.

Like most cars, prices of used Carrera GT models have soared over the past 18 months, so much so that a pristine 2005 example sold for $2 million in January – and Jerry Seinfeld’s car could sell for even more than that. Making this particular Carrera GT, currently up for sale through duPont Registry, unique is the fact that it has been driven just 27 miles (43 km). By comparison, the car that sold for $2 million had 250 miles (400 km) under its belt.

The Porsche in question is number 154 of the 1,270 units that were produced and like most others, is painted in GT Silver Metallic with some exposed carbon fiber parts and bright yellow brake calipers.

A look inside the supercar’s cabin reveals Terracotta-colored leather across the seats, door panels, transmission tunnel, dashboard, and steering wheel and while the car is fast approaching almost 20 years old, it really is remarkable just how timeless the exterior and interior design has proven to be.

The listing doesn’t provide us with a detailed ownership history but it does confirm an asking price of $3.5 million, a truly staggering sum that seems a little too much. Sure, the car has barely been driven but is it really worth $1.5 million more than a comparable car that had just 223 miles more on the odometer? We’re not so sure.

Nevertheless, it does seem as though prices of used Carrera GTs will continue to increase over the coming few years but there will come a time where prices will stagnate. That could be before the $3 million barrier is breached or it could be after, only time will tell.
