Jeep has just teased its latest concept for the upcoming Easter Jeep Safari and it promises to be a hybrid, but not a 4xe. That’s because it combines the utility of the Gladiator with the off-roadability of the Wrangler.
“Ever wonder what blending two mighty off-roaders like the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator might look like?” asks Jeep in its latest teaser. “The latest Jeep concept heading to this year’s Easter Jeep Safari reinvents what the ultimate terrain tackler dares to be, delivering an abundance of four-wheeling confidence and a pinch of open-air freedom.”
Sporting big chunky tires, “Rubicon” lettering along the side of its hood, a big power bulge on top of it, and no doors, this may be the truck first teased in February. That mysterious Gladiator was previewed with a QR-code-like design and, although much was hidden, it seemed to have big tires and an unusual roof.

Jeep specifically notes, though, that this concept will dare “to be more like an SUV to increase its departure angle,” suggesting that its bed will be shortened in order to bring the wheels closer to the corners in order to allow it to go up steeper inclines.
Whatever it is, it will no doubt impress at the Easter Jeep Safari, running from April 9-17 in Moab, Utah. The annual event is an opportunity for Jeep to celebrate its history and test out ideas with new concepts that might hint at options soon bound for production.
There it will be joined by a Grand Cherokee 4xe concept that was teased in February and a Wrangler Rubicon 392 concept designed to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Rubicon badge.
