The 2023 BMW M3 Touring has been completely unmasked in new patent images.
Following hot on the heels of undisguised photos, the pictures give us our best look at the upcoming wagon.
As you can see, the model will follow in the footsteps of the M3 sedan and feature a ‘beaver teeth’ grille that is flanked by mesh intakes and vertical air curtains. The front end also sports familiar headlights and a bulging hood.

The wagon’s profile largely carries over, but the high-performance variant is distinguished by front fender vents and sportier side skirts. The model will also have aerodynamic mirror caps and lightweight wheels, which are simply left blank on the patent photos.
Out back, there’s a familiar bumper, diffuser, and four-tailpipe exhaust system. They’re joined by vertical reflectors and a relatively tame spoiler.
BMW has been keeping details under wraps, but the M3 sedan has a twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with outputs of 473 hp (352 kW / 479 PS) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque as well as 503 hp (375 kW / 510 PS) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque. However, the company has suggested the M3 Touring could be offered exclusively in Competition guise with all-wheel drive.
While that remains to be seen, the model will be introduced later this year and battle the Audi RS4 Avant and redesigned Mercedes-AMG C63 Estate.
