Everywhere we look around the automotive landscape, automakers are making the transition to electrification at varying rates. Imagine a world where vehicles powered by internal combustion engines (ICE) are as rare as the electric car was a decade ago. That’s most likely the future ahead of us so which conventional-engined vehicles would you save if it was totally up to you?

There’s no telling how legislation in the future will apply to automobiles in the future. Will ICE cars turn into a version of the modern-day horse? A little over 100 years ago, the four-legged steed was the main method of conveyance, and today, only the wealthy in America own and enjoy horses for pleasure.

Would you focus on new cars at the height of internal combustion engine technology? The Aventador 780-4 Ultimae features the very last naturally aspirated un-electrified V12 to ever go into a Lamborghini. That’s a special thing and it’s by no means alone right now in the automotive world.

Of course, you could focus on iconic cars that are still in production like the Porsche 911. It might not currently be as iconic as some of its forebearers but in 50 years it sure will be.

The modern ICE-powered American muscle car is about to go extinct and while we’re confident future electrified versions will be fun, it’s still wild to think that the sound of a V8 might fade far into the history books sooner rather than later.

Would you save groundbreaking cars full of other types of technology like the Mercedes Benz S-Class, or would you focus on the ferocious and wild side of things like the RAM TRX? We can understand the arguments on each side. At the same time, it’s important to consider historic cars that could get priority on this theoretical automotive ark.

Should the most historically important cars be included? That would see vehicles like the original Benz Motor Patent Wagon, the Lamborghini Miura, and the Bugatti Type 37 in the running. So you tell us.

Which vehicles would be saved on your ark so that you could continue to own and drive them long after ICE vehicles are far out of fashion? Tell us below in the comments.
