After stopping at the wind tunnel last week, the new Mercedes-AMG GT4 has now been snapped in the open by our spy photographers, sporting a new wrap.

The matte black finish adorned with yellowish-green flames gives it a hot-rod look while also allowing us to take a closer look at its exterior lines.

Joining the colorful prototype in cold weather testing was yet another AMG GT4, with the classic camo scheme applied on its body. What draws attention in this case is the presence of snow chains at the rear, suggesting perhaps that this is rear-wheel drive rather than AWD.

Whatever the case may be, the Mercedes-AMG GT4 will likely make use of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 unit, probably developing in excess of 600 horsepower. As previewed on the GT Concept last year, a hybrid version making over 800 horsepower could also join the range.
