Good morning and welcome to our daily of automotive news from around the globe, starting with…
After much uncertainty, it finally looks like Elon Musk will become the new owner of Twitter. After initially taking a ‘poison pill’ stance to discourage anyone from acquiring more than 15 percent in shares, Twitter’s board has accepted Musk’s “best and final” offer of $54.20 per share. Although there had been worries that Musk didn’t have access to the promised cash, it seems those fears have been dealt with, and higher-ups at Twitter have locked down the system to avoid any last-minute derailments from disgruntled employees.

An electrified Corvette C8 will arrive next year, while a fully-electric model will debut some time after that. The two new models were confirmed by General Motor’s president Mark Reuss, speaking on CNBC’s Squawk Box. Shortly after the interview, Chevrolet released a teaser of the hybrid version. In the clip, the car spins both front and rear wheels, indicating that the electrified Corvette will be all-wheel drive.

Impatient Chevy Driver Faces The Wrath Of Karma After Speeding Through Traffic
Yet another reminder that speeding through traffic rarely ends well is the example left by the driver of a Chevrolet SUV. Dashcam footage of the incident shows the cammer driving along the center lane of a three-lane highway with a Toyota Camry in the left lane and a Lexus RX in the right lane. Out of nowhere, a silver Chevrolet SUV comes into view, speeding in between the tight gap between the cammer and the Lexus, narrowly avoiding both of them. Things don’t end well for the SUV as it abruptly moves to the outside lane and makes contact with a Mazda3 sedan.
