Rivian Wins Biggest Incentives Package In Georgia History To Build New Plant
Rivian will be setting up a new plant in Georgia as the EV startup will receive $1.5 billion in incentives from the state and government. The plant, which will be built near Atlanta, is the largest development project in Georgia since World War II. However, some taxpayers living near where the new plant will be constructed have objected to the site, citing concerns about traffic, environmental damage, and continued urban sprawl.
GMC Introduces Fully Loaded, Super Cruise-Ready Yukon Denali Ultimate For 2023
In a move further upmarket, GMC has added the Ultimate trim level to the Yukon Denali. The 2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate features GM’s Super Cruise advanced driver assistance system, allowing driving duties to be taken over by the Yukon on highways that have been mapped out. There’s even greater comfort inside, including full-grain leather seats with massage functionality, open-pore wood trim, and an 18-speaker Bose Premium Series audio system. Outside, the exterior accents are treated to an exclusive “Vader Chrome” finish, with the SUV sitting on 22-inch ultra-bright machined wheels.
New Flying Spur Hybrid Is Officially Bentley’s Cleanest And Most Efficient Model To Date
The new Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid offers a greener alternative to the V8 and W12 engine configurations. Powered by a 2.9-liter V6 coupled to a plug-in hybrid system, the newly introduced version of the Flying Spur is the cleanest and most efficient model in the brand’s history. The car’s EV-only driving range is WLTP rated at 41 km (26 miles), thanks to the 18 kWh lithium-ion battery. The Flying Spur Hybrid can also travel from London, UK all the way to Frankfurt, Germany, without refueling or stopping to recharge. This is thanks to a combined range with a full tank and a fully charged battery at 805 km (500 miles). Power output is rated at 536 hp (200 kW / 544 PS) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque, a smidge less than the power of the twin-turbo V8.
Mercedes And BMW To Sell Their Car-Sharing Joint Venture To Stellantis
Stellantis is buying SHARE NOW, a mobility company set up as a joint venture between BMW and Mercedes. Italian newspaper La Reppublica reports that the deal has been valued at around €100 million ($105 million USD at current exchange rates), though others have proposed that it may have been worth more than twice as much. It remains subject to approval from antitrust authorities. The deal will expand Stellantis’ Free2Move car-sharing venture in an effort to grow net revenue from the segment.
Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 Racecar Brings STO-Derived Aero And Improved Safety
The third generation of the Huracán-based GT3 racecar has been unveiled. The new car features multiple enhancements, with several aero components borrowed for the road-going Huracán STO, including the rear fin and hexagonal roof-mounted scoop. There are revised splitters and a revised diffuser, while the underbody is coated in Zylon fiber to improve downforce. Other improvements center around the roll cage, rear wing, engine throttle bodies, and braking system.
Alpine Launches Two Special A110 Colors For The Miami Grand Prix
Channeling those Miami vibes in time for the city’s first-ever Grand Prix, Alpine is releasing the “South Beach Colorway” pack on the A110 sportscar. The package includes two new colors: Bleu Azur (teal) and Rose Bruyère (pink). Both shades are combined with a set of white 18-inch Serac wheels and blue/pink flag emblems on the C-pillar, while the interiors get special floor mats, unique stitching, and body-colored door cards.
