Few cars from Toyota are as iconic as the Celica and a particularly well-maintained and low-mileage is looking for a new home.
This particular Celica isn’t like most as it is a 1985 GT-S Convertible, perhaps one of the lesser-known variants of the popular sports car. Given it’s age, it wouldn’t be surprising to see it with well over a hundred thousand miles on the clock and with visible damage across the exterior and in the cabin. However, that’s not the case.
Toyota Celica Turns 50: A Look Back At The Seven Generations Of The Japanese Sports Car
The eBay listing reveals the car has only ever been driven 4,588 miles (7,383 km) from new. The Celica GT-S Convertible has also spent most of its life covered and stored inside and as such, it looks almost brand new. Everything from the New White paint through to the black exterior trim and power-folding canvas top have been well-maintained and show no obvious signs of wear or damage.
The cabin of the Toyota features gray cloth seats as well as a matching gray carpet. Not only do the seats almost look new but so does all the black trim across the door panels, dashboard, center console, and steering wheel.
Powering the Celica is a 2.4-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine coupled to a four-speed automatic transmission and a 3.58:1 rear end. By modern standards, the car isn’t particularly fast or powerful but dropping its top and driving it along the coastline would be an experience any car enthusiast would love.
Further adding to the desirability of the car is the fact that it has only ever had one previous owner.
