The 2023 Genesis GV60 has gone on sale in the United States and pricing starts at $58,890 and a $1,090 destination fee for a total of $59,980 before incentives.
Kicking things off is the entry-level GV60 Advanced AWD, which comes nicely equipped with LED lighting units, power retractable door handles, an 20-inch alloy wheels. Buyers will also find rain-sensing wipers, roof rails, and a power hands-free liftgate. They’re joined by a panoramic glass roof and puddle lights that project the Genesis logo onto the ground.
Since Genesis is a luxury brand, it comes as little surprise the interior takes center stage. Once ensconced in the heated and ventilated leather front seats, drivers will find themselves looking at a heated steering wheel and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
Speaking of displays, the crossover comes equipped with a head up display and a 12.3-inch infotainment system with GPS navigation as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. Other tech features include a wireless smartphone charger and a proximity key with a push button ignition.

However, the GV60’s coolest features are facial recognition technology and a fingerprint authentication system. The former recognizes owners as they approach, so the doors can automatically be unlocked when they arrive at the vehicle. Once inside, the fingerprint authentication system enables them to start the GV60 without a key.
Putting technology aside, the crossover boasts a dual-zone climate control system, aluminum trim, ambient lighting, and a Bang & Olufsen premium audio system. Designers also installed a leatherette-wrapped instrument panel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, rear sunshades, and a cargo cover.
On the safety front, there’s an assortment of driver assistance systems including Highway Driving Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, and Forward Collision Avoidance-Assist. They’re joined by Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, and Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg as the model also features a Blind-Spot View Monitor, a Surround View Monitor, and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist. Other safety features include High Beam Assist, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Parking Distance Warning, and Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist. Rounding out the highlights are Remote Smart Parking Assist, Advanced Rear Occupant Alert, Safe Exit Assist, and a rearview camera with dynamic guidelines.
Power is provided by a 77.4 kWh battery pack that feeds a dual-motor all-wheel drive system. The latter features a 99 hp (74 kW / 101 PS) electric motor up front and a 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS) electric motor out back. This setup gives the crossover a combined output of 314 hp (234 kW / 318 PS) and a range of 248 miles (399 km).
GV60 Performance AWD Packs 483 HP, Starts At $67,890
While the entry-level model comes nicely equipped, the GV60 Performance AWD is the one to get. It starts at $67,890 and features an upgraded dual-motor all-wheel drive system that features front and rear electric motors both developing 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS). This gives the crossover a combined output of 429 hp (320 kW / 435 PS), although a Boost Mode temporarily increases the output to 483 hp (360 kW / 490 PS). Unfortunately, the extra performance comes at a cost as the range falls to 235 miles (378 km).
Sticking with the performance theme, the upgrades extend beyond the powertrain as the crossover comes equipped with an electronically controlled suspension, an electronic limited slip differential, and monobloc front brakes. It’s also worth noting the model rides on larger 21-inch alloy wheels.
Interior changes are modest, but buyers will find additional equipment including Nappa leather upholstery, heated rear seats, and an “Ergo Motion” massaging driver’s seat. Other highlights include alloy pedals, a microfiber suede headliner, and Genesis Digital Key 2. The latter uses Ultra Wideband technology to automatically unlock the vehicle when the owner’s compatible Apple iPhone, Apple Watch or Samsung Galaxy device approaches.
To help owners get the most out of their EV, Genesis has partnered with Electrify America to offer three years of 30 minute complimentary charging sessions from the date of purchase. Genesis also noted all 2023 models, including the GV60, will come with a lifetime subscription to Connected Care. It provides automatic collision notification, enhanced roadside assistance, and emergency assistance.
While the GV60 has gone on sale in the United States, customers will have a hard time getting one as the model will initially be available at “select Genesis retailers in California, Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York.” That’s a bit of a bummer and would-be customers are being asked to contact their local dealership about availability.
