Few cars have excited car enthusiasts across the United States quite like the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and while customer deliveries have still yet to start, an undisguised example was recently captured in the flesh.
This clip was shared across Reddit and while we’re not sure exactly where it was filmed, it does provide us with an excellent look at the Z06 on the move while also giving us the opportunity to hear its potent engine in full flight.
If you’re able to ignore the horrendous wind noise at the start of the video, you’ll be rewarded at the 39-second mark when the driver of the Z06 pulls alongside the guy filming, drops a couple of gears and pins the throttle, letting the 5.5-liter V8 sing.

Every Chevy Corvette to wear the Z06 nameplate has been special but it is the engine of the latest-generation model that has really got people talking. The engine in question is a 5.5-liter naturally-aspirated V8 dubbed the LT6. It has a flat-plane crank, forged aluminum pistons, titanium connecting rods, dual throttle bodies, and four-into-two-into one stainless steel exhaust headers.
The engine of the new Corvette Z06 is so highly-strung that it churns out 670 hp and 460 lb-ft (623 Nm) of torque. The car can run to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 2.6 seconds and sprint down the quarter-mile in 10.6 seconds.
All these figures are impressive but to us, it will be the high-revving nature and the soundtrack of the V8 that really makes it exceptional. Indeed, it is shaping up to be one of the best-sounding production cars ever built in the United States and will likely prove to be one of the last performance cars to feature a naturally-aspirated V8.
