A 1995 BMW E36-generation M3 GT that’s apparently had roughly £250,000 ($312,250) spent on it is looking for a new home through eBay.
The M3 GT was the ultimate version of the E36 3-Series and was capped at just 356 examples worldwide, all of which left the factory painted in British Racing Green. This example is one of just 50 right-hand drive models produced and has an asking price of £45,000 ($56,599).
BMW built the M3 GT to meet homologation requirements for the FIA GT and IMSA GT series. It benefited from a number of modifications over the standard car. For example, the 3.0-liter naturally aspirated inline-six was updated with the shorter intake manifold of the 3.2-liter unit and a new camshaft was also installed.

The seller of this car says that its engine underwent a complete rebuild in 2019 and that it now pumps out 305 hp. Prior to undergoing this engine work, the car was fitted with a Quaife LSD in 2015 and the Vanos unit was replaced in 2014. It has also been equipped with four-piston AP Racing brakes and features adjustable KW 2 dampers and springs.
The listing adds that the car has had six previous owners and that one of them frequently drove it on the Nurburgring. In fact, even the late Sabine Schmidtz drove the car around the famed German circuit.
A plethora of invoices and receipts will come with the M3, all of which apparently add up to roughly £250,000. The car will also be sold with a Total BMW Magazine that featured this particular M3 GT. While it has covered roughly 200,000 miles (~321,000 km) since new, it seems to have been well-maintained over the years and would be a welcome addition to any performance car collection.
