A few months after we saw the first photos of the fully electric Nezha S, the Tesla competitor has officially been launched in the Chinese market. The company released pricing and detailed specifications of the standard EV, alongside a newly announced “Yaoshi” special edition sporting scissor doors.

Starting with the specifications, the Nezha S is based on the “Shanhai” architecture by Hozon, allowing it to be offered in both fully electric (BEV) range-extender (EREV) variants.

The AWD model is fitted with dual electric motors producing a combined 456 hp (340 kW / 462 PS) that allow it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.9 seconds and reach a limited top speed of 170 km/h (106 mph). While the battery’s capacity has not been announced, Nezha says it offers a driving range of 650 km (404 miles) under the CLTC cycle.

As reported by Car News China, in the future, the Nezha S will also be available in RWD form with a single electric motor bringing a lukewarm 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration of 6.9 seconds, and a longer CLTC driving range of 715 km (444 miles). Further down the road, a range-extender variant will be added to the lineup offering the best range at 1,100 km (684 miles).

Fancy A Pair Of Lambo-Style Doors For Your Chinese Electric Sedan?

We have already covered the sleek design of the Nezha S, but the EV has a larger footprint than we initially thought. In fact, it measures 4,980 mm (196 inches) long, 1,980 mm (78 inches) wide, and 1,450 mm (57.1 inches) tall, with a wheelbase of 2,980 mm (117.3 inches). Those figures make it exactly as long as a Tesla Model S, and slightly longer than a Mercedes-Benz EQE. In addition, the aerodynamic silhouette brings a cd value of 0.216.

The EV will launch with a special edition called “Yaoshi” which will be produced in 999 units. The biggest highlight of the Nezha S Yaoshi is the addition of scissor doors, which is not the case with the standard Nezha S. Besides the Lambo-style doors, the limited run model has a new alloy wheel design finished in black, with green brake callipers. Buyers can choose between three exterior shades – Magic Night Black, Extreme Night Green, and Rushing Silver.

Standard equipment includes LED lighting, a panoramic sunroof, a 13.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a massive 17.6-inch 2K infotainment touchscreen, a third 12.3-inch screen for the front passenger, head-up display, and a 21-speaker sound system with 1,216 Watts. The safety kit is also generous, with five millimetre-wave radars and eleven cameras, to be joined by two LiDAR sensors in later variants of the model (we guess they were not available at the moment due to production shortages). The goal of Nezha is to offer Level 4 autonomy, something that could be achieved by future OTA updates.

The Nezha S Yaoshi is already available for pre-orders in China, with pricing starting from ¥338,800 ($50,751). The first deliveries are expected in July. Owners will get 2,000 kWh worth of free energy per year for charging their EV using Nezha’s network.
