A British YouTuber with over 69,000 subscribers has been handed a 27-month prison sentence for dangerous driving.

The YouTuber, 25-year-old Adeel Habib, was behind the Certi Drivers channel and shared videos of him driving dangerously on public roads. The BBC notes that videos showed him hitting high speeds, racing other drivers, weaving in and out of traffic, and ignoring red lights. Habib’s channel has since been cleared of all its content.

West Yorkshire Police state that Habib’s driving offenses were committed between December 2020 and October 2021. They became aware of his channel while targeting dangerous driving in the Leeds and West Yorkshire areas.

This isn’t the 25-year-old’s only run-in with the law. As police were investigating his driving, he was sentenced to prison for four years on drugs charges. In addition to being handed a 27-month sentence for his driving, Habib has also been disqualified from driving for 49 months.

Inspector Richard Horn described Habib as “absolutely shameless” and said that he showed “utter contempt” for road users by “regularly posting videos of his antics to impress his many followers.”

While the Certi Drivers channel on YouTube is now void of all content, a number of shocking videos he posted remain on other social media platforms. One video shared to Reddit eight months ago shows the 25-year-old driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, swerving through traffic at high speeds and coming within inches of hitting multiple motorists, including a motorcyclist. A separate video that can be viewed on TikTok shows Habib speeding in a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, showing complete disregard for other motorists.
