Elon Musk Bails On Twitter Deal, Claims Company Didn’t Provide Required Information
According to Elon Musk, Twitter execs misrepresented the extent of spam and fake accounts on the social media platform, prompting him to withdraw his $44 billion offer. In Musk’s view, as Twitter untruthfully stated that fake and spam accounts comprised for fewer than 5 percent of all daily active users, the firm also infringed the sales agreement. But, unless he can prove Twitter intentionally deceived him about corporate matters, Musk will have to pay Twitter a $1 billion breakup fee for the termination.

Volkswagen has unveiled the new Amarok, and there’s a chance that this generation will debut stateside. It’s being built in South Africa and has been enhanced in both design and performance. The Amarok is more capable now and includes more luxury and safety attributes. You can choose from three diesel and one gasoline engine ranging from 148 hp to 289 hp, depending on market.
New Suzuki Jimny 5-Door Prototype Spotted In Europe, Could Get a Hybrid Powertrain
Suzuki has been spotted in Europe testing the much-awaited five-door Jimny. The camouflage fails to hide its 300 mm (11.8 inches) longer wheelbase, extra windows at the back, and rear doors. Apart from the evaluation equipment fitted, the interior appears to enjoy a larger touchscreen and unchanged analog dials. Suzuki is reportedly electrifying the Jimny range, and the spotted variant is likely to feature a mild-hybrid turbocharged engine.
2023 Mazda CX-60’s New 3.3-Liter Inline-Six Engine Wants To Prove Diesel Is Still Relevant
The e-Skyactiv D is a new 3.3-liter inline-six diesel power plant that will be available in Mazda’s CX-60 luxury SUV. This diesel engine has two tuning levels that produce 197 horsepower (200 PS) and 251 horsepower (254 PS), with corresponding CO2 emissions of 127 and 137 g/km. Targeted at the European market, it’s an engine that sadly won’t an option available to the U.S.

What looks to be a new flagship for the Italian firm, our spies have spotted this camouflaged Lamborghini that drops hints of its intent. It features L-shaped channels on the hood, a set of hexagonal lower intakes, and Y-shaped headlights, among several more design features. The rear sports an active spoiler, quad exhaust tips, flying buttresses, a large diffuser, and Y-shaped LED taillights. Sources tell us that this Aventador successor will rock a brand new plug-in hybrid V12 engine, with an expected debut in 2023.

The once-vibrant sedan industry is shrinking due to an ever-increasing boom in crossover and sport utility vehicles. But one market has bucked the trend: China. IM Motors, a new EV start-up formed by SAIC Motor, Zhangjiang Hi-Tech, and e-commerce giant Alibaba Group, now offer the electric L7 sedan, and soon the L5, as seen in our speculative illustrations. The L5 will feature a sleek design, a 93 kWh battery pack, 570 horsepower (425kW), 531 foot-pounds (725Nm) of torque, and a 0-to-60 mph time of less than 3.9 seconds.

Lexus and Toyota have suspended LX and Land Cruiser orders in Japan due to demand outgrowing supply. A Lexus spokesperson stated that “LX orders in the U.S. are still being accepted, and vehicles are being delivered to dealerships as soon as they arrive.” The new 2022 Lexus LX with dual turbochargers is rated at 409 horsepower (305 kW). You can get it for a starting price of $86,900.
Human Horizons HiPhi Z Combines Thousands Of LED Lights With A 0-62 MPH Time Of 3.8 Seconds
With the unveiling of Human Horizons HiPhi Z, we get a glimpse of the car that “looks, feels, and drives like a car from 20 years in the future”. It kicks off the revolutionary tech with a “wrap-around Star-Ring ISD light curtain” that uses LEDs that can communicate with other vehicles, other drivers, and its surroundings. Fitted with a 120 kWh battery pack, the HiPhi Z can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in 3.8 seconds and has a 438-mile range. More information is likely to be released in August.

Gas prices have continued to fall this week after hitting record highs. The record national high of $5.02 per gallon was recorded in June, but according to the American Automobile Association (AAA), prices could further drop, with the national average currently reported to be $4.72 per gallon.
