July 17 will mark National Ice Cream Day and to celebrate the occasion, Porsche has introduced a handful of special ice cream pops inspired by some of its most famous paint colors.
The ice cream pops were brought to life with the help of Chicago-based creamery Pretty Cool Ice Cream and have packaging to match the flavors.

The first flavor from the German automaker is Mint Green, combining green mint cookies and cream ice cream with a mint green white chocolate shell. Next is Strawberry Red, consisting of cream cheese ice cream dipped in a strawberry red shell and made with real freeze-dried strawberries. There is also Macadamia Metallic consisting of roasted macadamia ice cream with a sparkling macadamia metallic colored chocolate shell, Frozen Berry Metallic that has black raspberry ice cream and a frozen berry colored Ruby chocolate shell, and Lime Gold Metallic that takes the form of key lime pie ice cream in a sparkling lime gold colored caramel shell.
“This has been a fun project and one we hope will evoke a smile, just like the customizable colors available on all of our cars,” vice president of marketing at Porsche Cars North America, Ayesha Coker said in a statement. “Pretty Cool Ice Cream has been as meticulous and passionate as we are about getting the color just right – and on top of that they’ve come up with delicious flavors to match. We hope Porsche fans and enthusiasts of all ages will enjoy the ice cream as much as we’ve loved creating it!”
The special ice cream pops will be available from the Pretty Cool Lincoln Park location in Chicago throughout National Ice Cream Day. They will also be available to purchase at exclusive Porsche events throughout the year.
“My uncle, ‘Targa Dan,’ has always had a passion for restoring Porsche cars and has brought over 200 cars back to life over the last 50 years, so I grew up very close to the brand,” Pretty Cool Ice Cream owner Dana Salls Cree added. “When Porsche reached out to me to make some custom ice cream inspired by the paint colors, I was thrilled. Similar to all Porsche sports cars, the ice cream pops are truly a passion project that I couldn’t be more excited to share.”
