In addition to unveiling the long-awaited Dodge Hornet at its ongoing Speed Week event, the car manufacturer has also unveiled the Hornet GT GLH Concept to preview the host of Direct Connection parts available for the SUV.
Dodge has taken inspiration from the 1980s Omni GLH, which stands for ‘Goes Like Hell’ in designing the Hornet GT GLH Concept, finishing it in black with a host of eye-catching red accents.

Numerous distinctive parts also make the Hornet GT GLH Concept stand out. These include a suspension lowering kit that drops the ride by more than an inch, an unrestricted dual exhaust with black chrome tips, Direct Connection GLH 20-inch painted and machine-faced wheels, Direct Connection GLH graphics with stripes and logos, and black-painted lower trim with a distinctive rear fascia.
Dodge says it will grow its Direct Connection parts portfolio with products developed exclusively for the Dodge Hornet. These parts will be available exclusively through Dodge Power Brokers dealers and will not impact the vehicle’s warranty when installed by a dealer.
It is not just the entry-level Hornet GT that will be available with Direct Connection parts as the hybrid Hornet R/T will also be available with them.
Dodge is promising to released more specifics about the Hornet’s Direct Connection parts at a later date, including horsepower numbers, pricing, and availability details.
In terms of powertrains, Dodge has confirmed that it will sell the Hornet in GT and R/T configurations. The entry-level GT model uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 268 hp and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. This engine works alongside a nine-speed automatic transmission powering all four wheels and allowing the SUV to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 6.5 seconds. Those with bigger budgets and on the hunt for more performance can opt for the Hornet R/T with a 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder working alongside a rear-mounted electric motor. It delivers a combined +285 hp and 383 lb-ft (519 Nm) of torque.
