Say what you will about Buick, but the brand has been churning out handsome crossovers such as the Envision and Enclave.
However, the company is making a radical change as their new design language ditches soft curves for angular and aggressive lines. This has proven controversial and some have noted there’s nothing Buick about the new look.
We first got a glimpse of the new design language in June, when Buick unveiled the Electra-X and Wildcat concepts. Now, the new look is heading to dealerships as the company recently introduced the Envista crossover coupe in China.

With a handful of models sporting the new design, we’re asking our readers what they think of the look. I’m a little conflicted as the new design language looks good, but also seems slightly anonymous.
That being said, Buick has noted future models will have an “expressive” face that is “distinguished by a bold, forward-leaning front-end appearance that features a low-mounted, trapezoidal grille.” Elsewhere, there will be sharp lines and streamlined styling as well as slender lighting units by the looks of things.
At the Wildcat’s unveiling, Buick said the concept was “developed to convey the all-new design language that will influence Buick production models for the foreseeable future.” Sharon Gauci, executive director of Global Buick and GMC Design, added the “Wildcat EV concept represents the real design future for the brand” and noted it is a “glimpse of where we’re going.”
The design language isn’t the only thing that is new as upcoming Buicks will also sport a modernized tri-shield logo that “symbolizes the design transformation” the brand is undertaking. The updated logo has already been seen on the Envista and will soon be found on more production models.
