The New South Wales Police announced last week that they caught a 1960 Bentley S2 at the border that was being used to attempt to smuggle cocaine, methylamphetamine, and fentanyl into the country.
Caught at Port Botany in Sydney, Australia, according to NSW Police, the car was X-rayed following a tip from the Australian Border Force. It was then dismantled and officers found 161 kg (355 lbs) of meth and 30 kg (66 lbs) of cocaine worth around AU$155 million ($106 million) hidden behind the headlights of the vintage vehicle.
Police say they worked with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in the investigation, code-named Strike Force Chime. The car was sent to Australia from Vancouver, British Columbia, per the National Post, which also reports that fentanyl was found in the vehicle.

The police then, apparently, reassembled the Bentley and let it be shipped to its recipient whereupon it said it executed a search warrant at a home in Rooty Hill on August 25, 2022.
In addition to the Bentley, a Ford Focus, mobile phones, and computers were seized and two men (aged 22 and 23) were arrested. Two further suspects (both 25) were arrested near Brisbane in a Toyota Prado. When police investigated the vehicle, they found 2.2 kg (4.8 pounds) of meth and more than AU$1.1 million ($759,214) hidden under a seat.
Canada, it seems, has become a preferred supplier of illicit drugs in Australia, where prices are apparently higher. Several high-profile arrests have been made involving Canadians attempting to smuggle drugs into Australia in recent years.
