Land Rover is about to launch the new Velar in the market and the first drive reviews have landed.

Slotting between the Evoque and the Range Rover Sport, the new Velar enters its segment armed with concept car looks, a tech-infested cabin and a wide-enough engine range to steal customers away from both the Porsche Macan and the Volvo XC90.

Land Rover is so sure about the Velar’s success that they’re not afraid to admit that the newest member of the family isn’t as off-road capable as its big brothers; instead they call it the most dynamic Land Rover they’ve ever made.

Based on the mostly-aluminum structure of the Jaguar F-Pace and equipped with a rear-biased all-wheel drive, the new Range Rover Velar makes a lot of promises but it also comes with a hefty price tag, so it better be good.

After all, a car that looks so good must be a good one, right? Find out Autocar’s first impressions on the video linked below.
