The Ford Mustang has slowly and subtly grown from an everyday pony car to a real powerhouse with upper trim levels that develop more than 750 hp (559 kW). Despite that, it’s never really garnered the same type of reverence that other high-end sports cars enjoy. Now, one company has decided to rectify that situation by offering a service where it replaces the stock body with real carbon fiber.
That company is Asira Designs out of Arizona and it specializes in high-end customization to a degree we’ve never seen on the original pony car. What you see here isn’t a front clip of carbon fiber pieces and a wrap on the rear half. It’s all real carbon fiber and the Asira Mustang saves more than 200 pounds off of the original car because of the swap.
If all a buyer wants is the body swap it’ll cost them $43,000, but that includes a paint job and exposed carbon fiber accents. Those who want a naked carbon fiber finish will need to spend another $15,000. That’s a lot but it includes a center-line V-twill weave matched from the exterior to the interior. It’s also finished with a custom color tint and a clear coat for protection.

The firm also offers a comprehensive performance upgrade menu. Buyers can add a supercharger kit that’ll support up to 850 hp, a one-piece carbon fiber driveshaft, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S or Cup 2 tires. Brembo brakes and a complete menu of suspension upgrades are available too.
Weight weenies can get their kicks by adding racing wheels, a rear-seat delete kit, racing seats, and a custom exhaust. Altogether, that combo pulls over 100 pounds more out of the already lighter-than-stock car.
The interior isn’t left without attention either. Asira can equip your Mustang with an exposed carbon fiber interior package that includes trim throughout the cabin. It’ll also add quilted leather upholstery, a 10.2-inch infotainment system, and a custom carbon fiber steering wheel with leather inserts should a customer ask for them.
Add up all of these modifications and customizations and we’re talking about roughly six figures in modifications on top of the cost of the donor Mustang. Compare that to just about any other supercar with 850 hp and all of the bespoke work done here and it actually sounds like a deal.
