The new Nissan Z is ready to go racing with the unveiling of the Z GT4, previewed with a series of images before full technical specifications are announced at November’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
The Nismo Racing Division brought the car to life and has made a series of significant changes to the road-going model. Nissan notes that modifications have been made to the tuning of the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine, as well as both the chassis and suspension to get it ready for competitive use on a racetrack.
From a visual standpoint, the Nissan Z GT4 catches the eye thanks to the host of aerodynamic upgrades made. These start at the front end where Nismo has crafted a new splitter and canards on either side of the bumper to increase downforce on the front axle. The car has also been equipped with a race-ready hood and sits on distinctive gloss black wheels.
Exterior changes continue at the rear with the fitment of a large fixed rear wing, a GT4 badge on the decklid-mounted lip spoiler, a rain light, tow hook, and a single exhaust pipe, as opposed to the twin setup of the road car.
Nissan is yet to showcase the interior of the Z GT4 but says it has been developed to work for “drivers of all types.”
