The 2023 M4 CSL is an impressive piece of kit, and BMW has just published a number of new images its latest sports coupe.
These glamour shots were released as part of the M4 CSL’s press launch in the UK and show it on some lovely country roads. The car pictured appears identical in specification to the M4 CSL that was showcased back in mid-May when the car was first presented to the world.
Any BMW model adorned with the CSL name is special and it is no different with the M4 CSL. For starters, it went on a diet and weighs 240 lbs (109 kg) less than the standard M4, weight savings achieved through the fitment of carbon fiber front bucket seats, the removal of the rear seats, carbon ceramic brakes, forged wheels, lighter springs and struts, and lightweight sound insulation. The hood and trunk lid are also constructed from carbon fiber and a titanium exhaust has also been fitted.

The German automaker also worked its magic on the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six, lifting it to 543 hp, a 40 hp gain over the M4 Competition. This engine is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Unfortunately, no manual is available which is a shame given the car’s track-focused nature.
Various upgrades have also been made to the chassis of the car. These include the fitment of new zero-play ball joints in the control arms, unique anti-roll bars, a lowered ride height, and a reconfigured traction control system. A set of 19-inch wheels also come standard and are wrapped in 275/35 front and 285/30 rear Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires.
BMW is building just 1,000 examples of the M4 CSL and they are not cheap. In fact, U.S. pricing starts at $139,900 plus a $995 destination charge while in the UK it starts at £128,820.
