This story contains independent illustrations of a fictional Polestar S-E Concept crossover made by car designer Zhiheng Guo that are neither related to nor endorsed by Polestar.

Polestar has transformed itself from the little-known performance division of Volvo into a leader in the electric vehicle space and following the launch of the new Polestar 3, may see its sales soar. Of course, the automaker won’t stop with the 3.

The carmaker has already confirmed Polestar 4, 5 and 6 models, all of which will be released in the coming years. This particular creation, dubbed the Polestar S-E Concept, may not be an official product from the Swedish brand but it could serve an important addition to its range.

Brought to life by designer Zhiheng Guo as part of the 2021 Polestar Summer Design Contest, the S-E Concept takes the form of a high-riding SUV with key design elements from the company that could conceivably act as the marque’s flagship SUV model and perhaps rival the Lotus Eletre.

The front of the concept has an easily identifiable Polestar face thanks to the thin headlights and LED daytime running lights. While it lacks a traditional grille, it still has quite an expressive look thanks to the sharp angles and surfaces that catch the eye. An illuminated Polestar badge is also visible.

The side profile of the S-E Concept is intriguing, to say the least. It is unlike any SUV currently on the market and adopts a very low and sleek roofline with narrow side windows and a steeply tapered rear window and decklid. Headroom for second-row passengers probably wouldn’t be very good but thanks to the long wheelbase, we suspect there would be plenty of legroom.

Striking design elements continue at the rear, most notably with the LED light bar and taillights that mimic those of the sexy Polestar 6 roadster concept. A prominent skid plate is also found at the rear.
