French sports car manufacturer and F1 Team namesake, Alpine, has partnered with another vehicle manufacturer that competes at the pinnacle of sport: Lapierre. Together, they are selling a limited edition road bike.
The collaboration will result in a number of products, but the first is the Lapierre x Alpine Aircode DRS Alpine shown at the Paris Motor Show, which runs from October 17 until the 23.
The bike gets an exclusive finish that borrows details from the Alpine A110 R. That includes the Matte Racing Blue color on the frame and the Deep Black highlights. The A110 R is also on display at the French Auto Show, offering a lighter by 75 lbs (34 kg) weight compared to the standard car, thanks to the extensive use of carbon fiber.

Similarly, the Aircode DRS Alpine cuts weight thanks to the use of three types of unidirectional carbon fiber. That means that all of the fibers run parallel to each other, which helps direct forces through the bicycle and gives engineers greater control over how loads are distributed than with woven fibers.
In addition to the high-quality frame, Lapierre says that the bike gets all of the best components to make it feel as high-performance as possible. Assembled in Dijon, the bike utilizes everything the bike maker has learned in its 76 years of existence and from the pedaling of Tour de France caliber cycling teams like Groupama-FDJ and FDJ Nouvelle-Aquitaine Futuroscope.
In honor of the Alpine A110 R, which the Aircode DRS Alpine is inspired by, Lapierre will produce just 110 of these bicycles. Available in only selected Lapierre shops, the bike will be hard to come by, and it won’t be cheap either, with prices starting at €9,000 ($8,867 USD at current exchange rates).
