The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody Jailbreak is the latest model to receive a HPE1000 upgrade by Hennessey Performance.

The tuner has a wealth of experience in upgrading and transforming the Challenger and in the case of the Jailbreak, has made a handful of modifications to the 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 which ordinarily pumps out 807 hp.

Kicking off the changes are new supercharger pulleys, upgraded headers, a new exhaust, intake, fuel injectors, and an engine tune. All up, Hennessey’s creation delivers 1,000 hp and 948 lb-ft (1,285 Nm) of torque.

This particular Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody Jailbreak is the first Jailbreak that has been built by Hennessey and shortly after being completed, headed out onto the company’s Pennzoil Proving Grounds to be put through its paces.

Any car with 1,000 hp is going to be fast and it’s no different with this Challenger. It continues to be mated to the standard automatic transmission driving the rear wheels and if you plant your right foot to the floor, those wheels will spin up with ease. This is particularly apparent in this Jailbreak that during its test was rolling on Pirelli all-season tires.

Further adding to the appeal of a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat equipped with Hennessey’s HPE1000 package is that the upgrades aren’t actually visible unless you open the hood. Most people could be fooled into thinking this was just any old Hellcat but if they tried to race it in between the lights, they’d likely get a big surprise.
