On October 25, the next installment in Ken Block’s wildly popular Gymkhana series will debut but, it will do so with a little change. The video will be an ‘Electrikhana’ renamed to reflect the all-electric Audi S1 E-Tron Quattro Hoonitron that will star along Ken Block.
In the lead-up to the debut of Electrikhana, Hoonigan has released a video detailing the insane electric rally car and if you still think that EVs are boring, the Hoonitron should convince you otherwise.

Underpinning this beast is an 800-volt architecture that drives two electric motors sourced from Formula E. These motors are coupled to a gear reduction system that sends power to the wheels through carbon fiber differentials. While Hoonigan isn’t stating how much horsepower the car has, it does state that it delivers 3,000 Nm (2,212 lb-ft) of torque at each axle. No less than four battery packs were used in order to ensure the car can be quickly recharged.
Block had a lot of things to get used to when hooning around in the car. For example, the seating position is similar to that of a Formula 1 car as Block’s feet sit above his butt, creating what Block describes it as the weirdest seating position he’s ever had in one of his cars.
The futuristic design of the Audi S1 E-tron Quattro Hoonitron is inspired by the iconic Audi sport Quattro S1 that raced at the Pikes Peak Hill Climb in the 1980s. As such, it features a double-decker front spoiler as well as a rear wing with end plates that extend down the rear quarter panels.
“When we first heard about this project, the whole team was thrilled immediately,” Audi chief designer Marc Lichte said of the project last year. “The timeline was extremely tight: while our design process normally takes one to one-and-a-half years, we only had four weeks from the first drawing to the final design. We were constantly in touch with Ken Block and his team and engaged in intensive exchanges.”
