After years of development and numerous delays, the Tesla Semi is nearly here. The first deliveries will take place at a live event for the occasion on December 1st. We expect a full breakdown of the truck’s specifications and there’s a chance that Tesla might even throw in a surprise or two along the way.

Back on October 6th of this year, Elon Musk announced the start of production of the Tesla Semi. He also made it clear that the first deliveries would take place on December 1st but now we know that those hand-offs will take place at a special event. Martin Viecha, head of investor relations at Tesla, confirmed the event on Twitter.

“If you want to attend the Semi delivery event as a retail shareholder, please make sure you have a verified shareholder status on our IR website (unverified manual submissions are eligible if the paperwork is correct). We’ll be doing a random draw where 1 share = 1 entry,” his Tweet said. He’s referencing the Tesla Shareholder Program launched in July.

Tesla itself has yet to put out any sort of statement surrounding the event but we expect it to go like many others in the past. Tesla will almost certainly provide deep details about the Semi and its available specifications. The EV automaker has yet to reveal final pricing, range, or trims.

At the same time, we wouldn’t be shocked if Tesla sneaks in some additional surprises at the end of the main event. The Cybertruck looks like it’s closer to production than ever before. Showing up with whatever the finalized production-spec version looks like would certainly get Tesla fans even more excited than they already are.

On top of that, it wouldn’t be too wild to see Tesla drop new information on the Roadster that it initially unveiled back in 2017 when it introduced the Semi. Either way, we’re excited to see what exactly this new semi truck is capable of and whether or not it’ll actually stack up to mainstream big rigs.
