Welcome to Carscoops V3! We’re super floored to announce the launch of our brand-new online home. It’s been nearly five years since our last major redesign that went live all the way back in January 2018, so it was time to spiff things up for 2023 and beyond.
While you’ve been reading the latest news on our old site, we’ve spent the past few months meticulously building our new one, block-by-block. The first thing you’ll notice is the new look, one that’s more modern and hopefully more welcoming, and that comes complete with a smart new logo.
But while it all looks very different, you’ll find that everything you enjoyed about the old Carscoops has made its way across to the new one intact. Our design directive was to keep everything that worked, including the main layout on both the home and our article pages, only changing or re-imagining the bits that didn’t. Think Porsche 964 to 993, not Ford Mustang to Mach-E.
We wanted to make the new platform more visually appealing and easier to navigate on all devices, but some of the biggest changes aren’t ones you’ll see, but feel. Important upgrades under the site’s hood mean significantly shorter page load times and other improvements to the reader experience and which will only get better as we finish implementing all the tweaks behind the scenes.
And we’ve responded to feedback from the people who matter most, you. You asked for full-width images on our post pages, a swankier and more compact photo gallery on both mobile and desktop, and new menus throughout. We’ve delivered all of that and diligently worked on our font choices, another point of contention among some readers.
What Else Is In Store?
Beyond what you see here in today’s inaugural launch, we’re preparing a raft of add-ons and features that we’ll be sharing soon once we make sure everything else is working like clockwork. Some will arrive faster than others, like our AI-driven Newsletter that will cater to each reader’s needs, polls, a better search function (yes, we haven’t forgotten about that), and more.
Be Patient Until We Iron Out The Kinks!
As with any new website launch, there are bound to be some unforeseen issues, especially with older articles, but don’t worry, we’re laser-focused, working hard to fix any problems that arise. We’ll need your help here, so if you notice something, please inform us in the comments. A screenshot along with a note about the device and browser you’re using will go a long way in helping our master devs troubleshoot.
Give Us Your Feedback And Suggestions
That’s all we have for now, but rest assured, we’ll continue working and tweaking the site taking a close look at the comments for your valued feedback. So, head down and tell us what you think about our redesign overall – separately for both Desktop and Mobile, and feel free to share any suggestions and recommendations you may have as well.
