The VW ID. Buzz is admittedly a stylish minivan but what if someone wanted to make it a tiny bit more adventurous? A tuner from Graubünden., Switzerland took the first step by adding off-road wheels to the EV and photographing it in the perfect scenery.

The all-black VW ID. Buzz by off-road specialists Capricorn Trucks is fitted with a set of beadlock 18-inch “Classic B” alloy wheels from delta4x4, again finished in black. The wheels are shod in grippy rubber from Loder Tires, measuring 255/55R18. Alternatively, owners can choose similar tires from BF Goodrich, Cooper, or General Grabber.

Blacked Out VW ID. Buzz Looks The Part With Off-Road Wheels

This setup provides more grip in any kind of terrain, even though in the ideal world it would be combined with AWD. Unfortunately, the VW ID. Buzz is currently exclusively available in RWD form, with a single electric motor producing 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS) and 310 Nm (229 lb-ft) of torque. Energy comes from a 77 kWh battery, allowing a range between 400-480 km (250-300 miles), although the beefier tires with increased rolling resistance will probably reduce those figures.

The rims are quite pricey, as each one costs 665 Swiss Francs (equal to nearly $720 at current exchange rates) without the tire. This means that the complete set of four wheels (rims and tires) will set you back a cool 3,950 Swiss Francs ($4,254) for this exact configuration.

Capricorn Trucks plans on offering more options for the ID. Buzz in the future so we will keep an eye out for more off-road-focused upgrades. Combine them with Ququq’s camping box and you have the perfect getaway vehicle for camping.
