Just in time for the holiday season, DS Automobiles revealed a bespoke ride-on car for toddlers. The tiny vehicle is not for sale, as it was created as a special gift for the son of double Formula E Champion Jean-Éric Vergne.
The one-off baby walker was designed by the DS Design Studio Paris. It is inspired by the exclusive DS 4 E-Tense 225 Performance Line + created specifically for racing driver Jean-Éric Vergne, so father and son can drive matching-spec vehicles.

The sleek body of the baby walker is painted in Satin Anthracite Grey with Lacquered Black graphics. The front end is reminiscent of DS Automobile’s cars featuring a personalized “Leo” badge, the DS emblem, grille-style stickers, and the automaker’s lighting signature. The single seat is upholstered in Alcantara with gold and carmine stitching. The same treatment can be found on the leather-wrapped steering wheel that sticks out of the bonnet.
DS Automobiles says that the vehicle’s top speed and acceleration are “related to human ability”, so it is up to young Leo Vergne to find out how fast it can go. The lucky kid will find his present under the Christmas tree.
As for Jean-Éric Vergne’s uniquely specced DS 4 E-Tense 225 Performance Line +, he took delivery last October. The flagship plug-in hybrid variant of the DS 4 producing 222 hp (165 kW / 225 PS) and 360 Nm (265.5 lb-ft) of torque, was recently updated with a 62 km (39 miles) zero-emission range. The special version created for the 2019 and 2020 Formula E champion is distinguished by the extended bi-tone finish (Satin Anthracite Grey / Lacquered Black) and his initials on the bonnet.
