Damd will bring an impressive lineup in the 2023 Tokyo Auto Salon, comprising five modified Suzuki models. Three of them are based on the Jimny and look like baby variants of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, joined by an Every camper wearing the face of an old Defender, and a Hustler kei car with plenty of accessories.
Starting with the Suzuki Jimny triplets, they are called Advance, Traditional and Aventura. All three of them are based on the JDM-spec Jimny Sierra, featuring the little G. conversion which was originally introduced in 2019. However, their bodykits are modified to mirror the design of different variants of the iconic G-Wagen, making them perfect for Jimny collectors.

The Jimny little G. Traditional is the yellow-painted one, resembling the original G-Class thanks to the unpainted plastic finish of the grille, headlight surrounds, bumpers, skidplates, and fender extensions. The retro wheels, the cool-looking mirrors, the yellow lights mounted on the front bumper and the slimmer Mercedes-style taillights add to its appeal. There is also a roof basked that can be accessed by a tiny ladder at the back.
The Jimny little G. Aventura which is the green-painted one is more similar to the AMG variant of the G-Class. This is due to the faux intakes and metal accents on the bumper, the body-coloured add-ons, and the BBS-style alloy wheels which are finished in black. It also gets a larger roof rack with extra lights, a rugged cover for the spare wheel and modern LED taillights.
Last but not least is the orange Jimny little G. Avance. The rounded treatment of the body-coloured headlight covers and the Panamericana-style grille make it look like the latest generation of the G-Class. The same applies to the duo-tone treatment with a black finish for the bodykit and the roof. It looks sportier than the other two, which are more focused to adventure.
Besides the Jimnys, Damd also brought the Suzuki Every with the little D. bodykit and some special features. The fascia styled after the classic Defender became available for the Every van last year, as a complete kit that includes the front fenders, tiny bonnet, grille, off-road bumper and headlights. This time it is combined with a roof-mounted tent, complete with PIAA LEDs and mounts for tools and equipment.
The tiny van has also been upgraded with a lift kit for the suspension, and black alloy wheels shod in grippier Toyo Open Country R/T tires. There are no modifications under the bonnet which means that the Defenderised kei car retains its 660cc three-cylinder engine that produces up to 63 hp (47 kW / 64 PS). Mate it to the available all-wheel-drive system and you have a winner.
The last member of the Damd company is the Suzuki Hustler Country. This upgrade for the second-gen Hustler (2020-present) was revealed just a few days ago, with the goal of making it look more adventurous and off-road-ready. In our eyes they have succeeded, without sacrificing the cuteness of the original kei car.
The bodykit is already available for sale in Japan and includes rugged bumpers, slightly bulkier fender extensions, a new grille with a honeycomb pattern and Damd lettering, and a texturised finish for the roof. The conversion would’t be complete without a retro-flavored roof basket and a fitting set of wheels providing the Hustler with more grip off the beaten track.
Which one of Damd’s modified Suzuki models do you like best? All of them have their charm but unfortunately none is available for sale in the US market.
