The Tesla Model X and Acura NSX are two very different vehicles. One is an electric SUV, while the other is a hybrid hypercar. They do have one thing in common, though: both are incredibly quick. But which one is quicker in a drag race? That’s the question DragTimes hopes to answer with its latest video.
When you look past the NSX and Model X’s exterior, you start to see some similarities. Both vehicles have futuristic powertrains that are a nod towards cleaner, more-efficient vehicles. Being efficient may be high on the priority list for both, but they also boast devastating performance. We’ve seen the Model X absolutely decimate a Jeep Trackhawk and the NSX show a Model S its taillights.
This, then, should be a close race. The NSX has a few modifications, including downpipes from SicenceofSpeed and HRE wheels. The Model X, on the other hand, is all stock. Still, on paper, this race should be pretty close.
The Model X P100D is capable of getting to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds, while the NSX can do the same sprint in roughly 3.0 seconds. It’s crazy to think that both vehicles are just as quick despite having drastically different body styles, not to mention that they would embarrass much more expensive supercars from just a few years ago.
Still, both vehicles line up next to each other to see which one reigns supreme in a quarter-mile drag race. If you want to skip the intro and just watch the race, skip ahead to the 1:49 mark in the video below. While we won’t ruin the race for you, we will say that the result, as expected, is really close.
