It is no secret that Lamborghini is putting the final touches on the most hardcore Aventador variant to date. Specifics about the model, including its name, remain a mystery, but we know it will be fast.

While speaking with Road and Track at the Geneva Motor Show, Lamborghini chief technical officer Maurizio Reggiani remained coy regarding details, but confirmed the Aventador story isn’t yet over.

Asked specifically whether this hardcore Aventador would use the same Aerodynamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA) system as the Huracan Performante, Reggiani failed to provide a straight answer but didn’t deny the possibility. However, if spy images and videos of the hardcore Aventador indicate anything, it’s that the car will feature some kind of active aerodynamics, with large slats present in the front splitter, for example.

During the interview, Reggiani effectively ruled out the possibility of the model wearing the Performante badge. This statement fits in line with a recent image reportedly showing the model’s digital dash reading ‘Aventador SVJ’.

Based on the timing of the leaks, the Aventador SVJ was thought to have an outside chance of premiering at the Geneva Motor Show. Perhaps concerned that it would overshadow the drop-top Huracan Performante, Lamborghini opted against such a launch. It is possible that we will see the hardcore Aventador at the Paris Motor Show in October.
