This is a 1996 TVR Cerbera and up until very recently, it was basically contraband here in the USA. It features a big V8 engine, a five-speed manual transmission, and one of the wildest-looking cabins on this side of the pond. It’s up for auction and should rocket its next owner to the top of the cool kids club at just about any cars and coffee gathering.
TVR made a bunch of wild-looking cars like the Sagaris before it mostly went out of business but by comparison, the Cerbera is almost restrained. Its sleek body and elegant lines hide a serious performance machine underneath.
The running gear includes a 4.2-liter V8 factory-rated at 360 hp (268 kW), AP Racing disc brakes, and a fully-independent coilover suspension at each corner. Oh, and the body is made of fiberglass, so comparing this to something like a Corvette or Viper isn’t completely unjustified.

Currently located in Venice, California, this particular Cerbera (named for the three-headed dog from Greek mythology), features metallic red paint and a gray leather interior. If the stunning bodywork doesn’t stand out enough for you, the interior certainly will.
Aside from being right-hand drive, this car features a steering wheel with gauges INSIDE of it and the most unconventional set of switchgear you may have ever seen. For example, the window switches aren’t switches at all. They’re knobs. And those hand pumps that look like they’re potentially attached to adult toys are actually there to increase or decrease lumbar support in the seat. There are even two seats in the back for the family!
This is an incredibly unique car and as of this writing, it’s only been bid up to $10,666. The somewhat ominous ending to that number might be appropriate though because there’s at least one big concern for whoever ends up buying this thing. And that’s maintenance.
Many TVR models are notorious for rust issues. Even if this one, in particular, is free from that concern, there’s still the question of who the heck is going to work on it when it needs maintenance.
