Styling is one of the most important aspects of automotive design. It can elevate an otherwise mediocre automobile and it can sink an otherwise good one. It can also affect the way we view the price or class of a vehicle. With that in mind, what’s the most boring-looking new luxury car on the market today?
We’ve got a few options that we think highlight exactly what we mean. Until very recently, Tesla’s Model 3 and Model Y were each priced well into the luxury category. When they first arrived on the scene they gave off a futuristic and minimalist vibe.
Today, both seem to be aging quickly and some of that might be down to the fact that they’re so cookie-cutter. Tesla doesn’t do much to distinguish one version from another and that can make some who wish to stand out just stuck in the crowd.

It’s not just Tesla with the problem though. Mercedes-Benz had a long time to think about how exactly it would come to market with an electric vehicle and somehow the EQS ended up being the winning design. Sure, it’s sleek, and it’s noticeably different from the gas-powered cars in the family, but to our eyes, it lacks any real passion or character.
The EQS SUV does a bit better by mimicking the highly-successful ICE SUVs in the lineup so we’re not sure why the sedan looks the way it does. Perhaps styling is something that will change when Mercedes ditches the EQ nomenclature in the near future.
Lincoln, too, has two contenders, namely the Nautilus and Corsair which, unlike their bigger siblings, are simply too uninspiring. You might have other ideas though concerning what is the most boring-looking luxury car on the market right now. Let us know what you think in the comments below!
