Much like the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 on which it is based, the Lexus LX 600 is a very capable off-roader. However, given its sheer size and value, you won’t see many being driven along difficult off-road trails. That’s where this vehicle comes in.
Dubbed the LF-Overland and conceived by designer Raymond W, this SUV has been designed as a capable off-roader that caters to buyers who enjoy outdoor activities and hobbies. It also looks considerably different than any current Toyota model, not something that can be said of the LX 600.
The overall shape of the LF-Overland immediately catches the eye. Starting at the front end, you’ll no doubt recognize a familiar Lexus grille and a pair of LED daytime running lights in the shape of the Nike swoosh. Located directly below these DRLs are the main headlamp units while sitting below the grille is a silver skid plate, adding to the rugged nature of the SUV.

The gloss black wheel arches are another design highlight, as are the digital side mirrors which, given their value, may not be all that well suited to an off-roader but certainly help to make the SUV feel that much more modern. Door handles that sit flush with the bodywork are a nice added touch.
We find the rear fascia of the LF-Overland particularly intriguing. Stretching out from the roof are a pair of spoilers sitting side by side while the tailgate is angled in and sports a pair of sharp LED taillights. A silver diffuser is also visible alongside a gloss black bumper and chrome-tipped tailpipes.
Were Lexus to ever produce a vehicle like this, there probably wouldn’t be all that many owners who would actually take it off-roading but if they did, they would likely be the coolest people on the trail.
