This 2003 BMW 5-Series Touring by Alpina is just one of 43 units ever built, and the only one painted in Dakar Yellow, and it’s been listed for sale on eBay. Its price tag of $59,950 includes shipping to any port in the U.S.

According to the eBay ad, the tan interior, which  we have to say, doesn’t look like a good match to the Dakar Yellow exterior, is in good condition without signs of wear, while the engine and the gearbox are also without fault. The wear on the 4.8-liter V8 is to the tune of 51,812 miles (83,383 km), all accounted for via the car’s service manual.

Features include automatic climate control, leather multi-function and adjustable steering wheel, electric windows front and rear, telephone, luggage blinds, headlight washers, 19-inch original Alpina wheels, heated front seats, Walnut inserts, xenon headlights and cruise control. The automatic gearbox, CD player, tan leather seats and sunroof were optional extras.

For the last iteration of the E39 B10, Alpina bumped power on the 4.8-liter V8 to 375 HP and 510 Nm (376 lb-ft) of torque. At its peak, the car’s top speed was 274 km/h (170 mph), while 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) took just 5.6 seconds – extremely impressive for a family estate in the early 2000s.

Now, unless you’re a wealthy collector or a classic Alpina / E39 aficionado looking for something you can drive on a daily basis, we’d wager that you would have a hard time justifying this purchase as long as both the E60 as well as the F10 BMW M5 can be had for a lot less.
