Radical might be a small automaker focused on race cars and track toys but they never stop upgrading their lineup. The latest example is the SR10 line which benefits from the XXR upgrade with advanced aerodynamics and a revised setup.

The Radical SR10 XXR debuts just a few months after the similarly upgraded SR3 XXR. The most notable change compared to its predecessor is the addition of the central fin at the back, with a design inspired by LMP racecars. The front end also got new louvers that are said to reduce understeer and improve cooling efficiency.

The splitter and the diffuser are optionally available in carbon fiber for further reducing weight, alongside the optional pre-preg carbon-fiber dashboard. Another lightweight component is the center-lock cast aluminum wheels measuring 15 inches at the front and 16 inches at the rear. The halo safety structure that protects the heads of the driver and the passenger in the event of an accident is also listed as an optional feature.

The Ford-sourced 2.3-liter engine is tuned by Radical Performance with a custom Garrett turbocharger, forged pistons, connecting rods, a bespoke dry-sump system, Life Racing ECU mapping, and a high-flow racing exhaust system. The mid-mounted engine produces 425 hp (317 kW / 431 PS) and 515 Nm (380 lb-ft) of torque, transmitted to the rear axle through a Hewland six-speed sequential gearbox and a limited-slip differential. Those figures are more than enough for a vehicle that weighs only 725 kg (1,598 pounds).

According to Radical, the SR10 XXR needs 2.4 seconds for the 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) sprint, while the maximum lateral force is 2.3 g. Speaking of handling, the fully adjustable Nik-link suspension with Intrax triple-adjustable dampers got updated cast aluminum uprights for extra durability. Braking is taken care of by four 315 mm (12.4 inches) discs with four-pot calipers.

The Radical SR10 XXR is already available to order with production scheduled to start this spring. Existing owners of the Radical SR10 can benefit from all the aforementioned upgrades thanks to the “XXR Evolution Pack”. Mind you, the SR10 is Radical’s best-selling model, with more than 100 units sold since its debut in 2020. Interestingly, the US market accounts for 70% of the sales volume of the track-only model.
