Ineos is only a new player in the automotive space but it is already planning a significant expansion of its current line-up that solely consists of the Grenadier.

The company’s owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, has revealed that Ineos is working on a small electric off-roader, a luxurious SUV similar in size to the Grenadier, and a more urban-focused model.

The first of these new models to hit the market will be the small electric off-roader. Autocar understands that work on the vehicle is quite progressed and that both the design and platform development is about to be frozen.

It is reported that the model will be underpinned by a new platform developed by Ineos solely for electric vehicles that can be scaled up or down depending on the application. Ratcliffe has confirmed it will be smaller than the Grenadier and look like its smaller brother. While technical specifications about the model aren’t known, Ineos is targeting a range of around 249 miles (400 km) and says it will not feature torque vectoring systems nor complex in-board motors.

Next will be a more urban-focused model as a rival to the Jeep Avenger. Little else is known about this model but it is expected to be sold under the Ineos brand and will not be dubbed the Grenadier Sport as previously suggested.

Ineos is also developing a luxurious SUV. This model is expected to be a heavily-modified variant of the Grenadier that will eschew the standard model’s off-road focus for better on-road performance and behavior.
