The Ram 1500 REV is not the only electrified offering by the carmaker, as Stellantis has just teased the upcoming ProMaster EV. The fully electric version of the van is coming in the first half of 2023 as a direct rival to the Ford E-Transit.

The first teaser for the Ram ProMaster EV was included in the pdf presentation for Stellantis’s full-year financial results for 2022. The single, shadowy, and low-resolution photo shows the front end of the van, revealing it is based on the high-roof model. It also features what appears to be an illuminated RAM emblem on the front grille.

Ram ProMaster EV Teased Ahead Of Imminent Reveal
The ICE-powered 2023 Ram ProMaster will likely share a great deal of its design with the upcoming ProMaster EV.

While this is the only hint that we have at the moment, styling changes compared to the ICE-powered 2023 Ram ProMaster are expected to be quite limited as is the case with most LCVs. Our guess is a redesigned grille and new badges will be enough to differentiate the electric van from the rest of the lineup while keeping development costs down.

In terms of hardware, the Ram ProMaster EV will most likely mirror the specs of the Fiat E-Ducato / Citroen e-Jumper / Peugeot e-Boxer triplets which are available in Europe since 2020. This means it will likely come fitted with a single electric motor producing 120 hp (90 kW / 122 PS) and 280 Nm (210 lb-ft) of torque and offer a choice of two battery packs allowing an EV range between 124 to 205 miles (200-330 km).

Ram ProMaster EV Teased Ahead Of Imminent Reveal
The Fiat E-Ducato was unveiled in production form back in 2020 alongside its siblings from Citroen and Peugeot.

We already knew that the electric van was under development since March 2022 when Stellantis unveiled the facelifted 2023 Ram ProMaster. Back then it promised a fully electric van for 2023 citing “strong customer demand”. Ram has also confirmed that Amazon will be the first customer for the ProMaster EV, with a fleet of thousands of units set to be deployed across the United States.

Stellantis‘ latest announcement mentioned that deliveries of the Ram ProMaster EV will start in the second half of the year. As reported by Detroit News, the automaker will invest $200 million in the Saltillo Van Assembly Plant in Mexico, where the Ram ProMaster EV will be produced alongside the ICE-powered model. The expansion of the factory is expected to be completed in 2024.
