The cute hatchback you’re looking at is the Wuling Bingo, a new EV from China that will soon hit the market and do so with a very intriguing design.
The Bingo has been brought to life by the joint venture between SAIC, General Motors, and Wuling Motors and will be positioned as Wuling’s flagship EV (for the time being). Car News China says that the automaker is primarily targeting female buyers with the new model and that it will make its public debut at next month’s Shanghai Auto Show.
The five-door hatchback has a cute profile with plenty of curved surfaces and soft edges. This is particularly apparent at the front end with oval-shaped headlights with LED daytime running lights and the small lower grille section finished in black. Wuling’s designers have also equipped the Bingo with a set of particularly gorgeous wheels while finishing the upper part of the hatchback, including the pillars and roof, in black.
For as appealing as the exterior of the Bingo is, we think it is the cabin that is the real highlight. There is a digital instrument cluster and a large infotainment screen sitting on top of the dashboard. The dash itself has a somewhat retro design with chrome across the air vents and three large dials to control the heating and air conditioning.
Given that the Bingo is an EV, it has a completely flat floor and lacks a traditional transmission tunnel. Separating the front seats is a small console where the gear selector is located, as is a switch for the electronic parking brake, as well as two cup holders.

Wuling will offer a plethora of options for the Bingo. These include storage boxes, a camping set, and more that can also neatly fit into the trunk of the EV. Heck, the carmaker will even sell the Bingo with a full-size inflatable airbed that can be used when the rear seats are folded down.
The EV will be sold in two guises. The entry-level model will have a 17.3 kWh battery pack with 41 hp and 81 lb-ft (110 Nm) electric motor driving the rear wheels and 203 km (126 miles) of range. The flagship model will feature a 31.9 kWh battery pack, an electric motor with 68 hp and 110 lb-ft (150 Nm), and be capable of traveling 333 km (207 miles) on a charge.
