Spy photographers have snapped the redesigned BMW X2 on multiple occasions and now we’re getting a revealing look inside.
As expected, the model follows in the footsteps of the X1 and features a Curved Display that likely consists of a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.7-inch infotainment system. The similarities don’t end there as the dashboard and floating center console appear to carryover untouched.
Despite the déjà vu, the prototype has a handful of special touches as it’s an M Performance variant. The steering wheel is the most noticeable as it has a unique center spoke as well as red and blue contrast stitching. The performance theme is echoed on the heavily bolstered sport seats, which have two-tone upholstery and red contrast stitching.

While the interior reveals a handful of new details, the exterior is still heavily camouflaged. That being said, the redesigned model eschews a hatchback-like design to become a more aggressive looking crossover coupe. As part of the makeover, the X2 adopts streamlined bodywork and flush-mounted door handles. We can also see a pronounced rear spoiler as well as a dual exhaust system.
Engine options are expected to be shared with the X1 and this means we can expect a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder with 241 hp (180 kW / 244 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. The M35i will be more powerful and it’s turbocharged four-cylinder should have around 302 hp (225 kW / 306 PS) and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm) of torque.
Customers looking to go green can opt for the iX2, which should have a 64.7 kWh battery pack as well as a dual motor all-wheel drive system with a combined output of 309 hp (230 kW / 313 PS) and 364 lb-ft (494 Nm) of torque. This setup enables the iX1 to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 5.6 seconds and have a WLTP range of up to 273 miles (440 km).
