Volkswagen is gearing up to present their vision for the future and preview their new design language on March 15th.

The automaker is keeping details under wraps, but suggested they’ll embrace the idea of being the “people’s car” as they tagged their posts with #VWforthepeople.

The company also released a short video showing an ID.5 and ID.4 GTX,  while a narrator says “This is a car, full of the latest innovation, ready to go out in the world, but it’s not a Volkswagen yet.”  A countdown then starts at 4 and ends at 2, before a message appears saying “More 2 come 4 you.”

The teasers are cryptic but, reading between the lines, it’s possible the automaker is hinting at the ID.2.  That’s just a guess, but the model is slated to be an affordable, electric “people’s car” and the video focuses on the number 2 while showing electric vehicles.

If that wasn’t enough possible evidence, spy photographers recently snapped a mule for a small EV.  The model is shorter than the ID.3, so it’s only natural to assume it would be called the ID.2 or ID.2 Golf.

We’ll learn more next week, but previous reports have suggested Volkswagen will use the event to unveil a concept that previews a 2025 production model.  The car is rumored to cost €22,500 ($23,801 / £19,962) and use affordable lithium iron phosphate batteries.  The model could also ride on an updated version of the MEB platform, known as MEB Plus.
