Facelifted 2019 Hyundai Tucson Coming To NY Auto Show

Hyundai will present the facelifted version of the third-gen Tucson next week, on March 28, during a press conference at the New York Auto Show, which will be streamed live.

The crossover slots between the Kona and Santa Fe Sport has been spied numerous times in prototype form with heavy camouflage covering its body.

Changes are believed to include updated headlights, grille and bumper at the front, along with some styling revisions to the bumper and taillights on the other end. With Hyundai wanting to make the 2019 Tucson more pleasant in the eyes of consumers, it might also get different wheels and some new colors.

Opening the door will reveal a new dashboard, with a floating-style infotainment system. Other changes performed inside should include trim updates and revised switchgear.

The powertrain family will (likely) be carried over, but it’s unknown whether Hyundai’s engineers have modified them in any way. Joining the facelifted Tucson lineup could be an ‘N’ version, as hinted by the performance brand’s chief, Albert Biermann.

In addition to the 2019 Tucson, Hyundai will also bring the all-new Santa Fe to the big event in the city that never sleeps. The SUV was already unveiled in Geneva, and it should be launched in the United States shortly after its presentation.

Buyers will be able to choose between two petrol engines at first, joined by a diesel next year. Hyundai has also confirmed hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions of the SUV.

The 2019 Hyundai Kona Electric will join the other two in New York. The zero-emission vehicle comes straight from the Geneva Motor Show, where it was revealed with a 133hp (135PS) electric motor and 39.2kWh battery pack. This version can be driven for up to 186miles (300km), whereas the long-range variant can travel up to 292miles (470km) and uses a 201hp (204PS) electric motor, paired to a 64kWh battery pack.
