The GR Corolla Morizo Edition is a special car. That’s one reason that Toyota can slap a $53,751 MSRP on a car with only three cylinders. That’s not enough for one dealer in Texas though. They gave one customer paperwork showing a total asking price of $92,707.76. Yes, that’s right; nearly six figures!
To be honest, GR Corolla markups are no big shock these days. For months, we’ve watched as one dealer after another asks far more than Toyota tells its customers to expect paying. What we haven’t yet seen is a dealer getting as greedy as North Park Toyota of San Antonio. One potential customer put it on blast this last Monday though.
That person posted a photo of the paperwork on the Toyota GR Corolla Owners Facebook page showing all of the associated costs with driving home this GR Corolla Morizo Edition. The selling price is $83,372 despite the fact that online, the website shows an MSRP of $53,372. On top of the $83k, North Park Toyota adds a $2,271 charge for “dealer added accessories” including tinting, nitrogen tires, and more.

Tack on the rest of the fees and taxes and this Toyota GR Corolla sits less than $8K away from six figures… ya know… twice as many figures as this hatchback has cylinders. We get it, this is indeed, a rare vehicle. Toyota says that it’s making just 200. It comes with extra torque, only two speakers, and a rear-seat delete.
Still, it’s a far cry from a $100,000 vehicle. For that kind of cash, there are far more potent and far more luxurious options on the market.
Review: We Drove The 2023 Toyota GR Corolla And We’re Impressed
As we mentioned above, it’s not the first time we’ve seen a markup on the GR Corolla or even the Morizo Edition. Just two weeks ago we found a different dealer, that time in Florida. But even in that case, they only stacked $20,000 on top of the base MSRP. That’s not okay either but it’s a far cry from almost twice the price.
We’ve reached out to the dealership and the customer in question and will report back if we hear from either one.
