Erik Buell’s FUELL offers an impressive assortment of e-bikes and the company has released new details about the Flluid-2 and Flluid-3.
Billed as another “step towards making e-bikes a true car replacement,” the models have a thick aluminum frame as well as a “clutter-free” design which is both minimalist and upscale. The company didn’t go into many specifics, but we can see front and rear fenders, LED lights, and a minimalist instrument cluster.
While the design is notable, the e-bikes stand out for their impressive ranges. In particular, the Flluid-2 is described as an “ultra-long-range powerhouse” as it features two removable batteries that provide 2 kWh of power. That’s pretty impressive for an e-bike and it enables the model to have a range of up to 225 miles (350 km) on a single charge. The Flluid-3 cuts the capacity in half, but its 1 kWh battery pack will be capable of providing 110 miles (180 km) of range.

Regardless of which bike is selected, both are powered by a Valeo motor that produces 1 hp (750 watts) and 96 lb-ft (130 Nm) of torque. The motor has an integrated automatic gearbox as well as “smart algorithms” that “adjust assistance, cranking frequency and pace, so that you get exactly the type of ride you need.” Riders can also manually shift, if desired.
The motor provides throttle assist up to 20 mph (32 km/h) and can fully power the bikes to allow for pedal-free rides. However, the latter feature isn’t offered in Europe.
Other highlights include hydraulic disc brakes, a maintenance-free Gates Carbon belt drive, and embedded connectivity. The latter allows owners to use their smartphone to locate their bike, get warnings about “unusual movements,” and lock/unlock it.
The bikes are aimed at “premium urban commuters” and pricing starts at $5,495 for the Flluid-3 or $5,995 for the Flluid-2. However, both can be ordered on IndieGogo for a reduced price of $3,849 and $4,199.
