Remember the Mercedes AMG Vision Gran Turismo concept from back in 2013? While the hypercar was purely intended to be a design study, 10 years later you can buy a similar-looking vehicle from Florida-based shop Parker Brothers Concepts. The bespoke supercar is called Erebos X and comes fitted with a twin-turbo V8 engine.

As a refresher, the original AMG Vision GT was created for the Gran Turismo video game before morphing into a real-life concept for the 2013 LA Auto Show. The latter also appeared in the Justice League film in 2017, as Bruce Wayne’s (a.k.a. Batman) vehicle of choice.

The Erebos X looks like a replica of the concept, although it is clearly not a Mercedes. Still, the sexy proportions and details like the large grille, the aggressive headlights, the bulbous fenders, the gullwing doors, and the greenhouse are heavily inspired by the concept. Likewise, the two-seater interior is also similar with a yoke steering wheel and round controls protruding from the center console. Parker Brothers also added a few custom styling touches as the massive rear spoiler, the slightly different LED taillights, and the aerodynamic wheel covers together with a striking gray / lime green color combination.

It is not clear if the Erebos X is based on an existing vehicle – like the Mercedes-Benz SLS or the more recent AMG GT – or sits on a custom tubular frame. The builders claim that it is powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 835 hp (623 kW / 847 PS) and sends power to the rear axle. This makes it more powerful than the actual Mercedes AMG Vision GT concept which in the Gran Turismo gaming series comes fitted with twin-turbo 5.5-litre V8 producing 580 hp (430 kW / 585 PS).

While the source of the underpinnings and powertrain is unknown, Parker Brothers revealed some specs of the Erebos X on social media. Those include a weight of 2,718 lbs (1,233 kg), a targeted 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint in 2.9 seconds, and a top speed of 202 mph (325 km/h). They also said that the ground clearance is greater than a Lamborghini Aventador when someone asked them about the drivability of the model on public roads.

As proven by the footage on their Instagram profile, the company has already built a rolling prototype, and is planning a limited production run of 10 vehicles. According to the listing on James Edition, each Erebos X will cost $1.5 million, which sounds quite hefty for a relatively unknown shop that specializes in building prop vehicles for films / TV shows. In any case, interested parties can also acquire the prototype for an undisclosed amount of money. This one is described as a “drivable showpiece” so we guess it will be cheaper than the finished production models.

We contacted Parker Brothers for more information about the Erebos X and will update the story when they get back to us. Notably, this is not the first time an independent party tries to put the AMG Vision GT concept into production. Back in 2013, there were reports about a company called J & S World Wide Holdings planning to build 10 vehicles again for $1.5 million each. Needless to say, this project never materialized.
